Sista Zai

Sista Zai (sista zai/vaChihera) is an Africanfuturistic storyteller. Amongst career highlights, sista zai is the recipient of the 2019 Neilma Sydney Literary Travel Fund and is currently undertaking a non-traditional creative PhD on Afrofuturisms supported by the University Of Melbourne’s highly competitive Melbourne Strategic Scholarship. VaChihera is a descendant of the Karanga from Gutu in southeast Zimbabwe. Born and raised in Harare, sista zai resides in Naarm-Birrarunga (Melbourne, Australia) where vaChihera runs a pop-up literary project (Pan Afrikan Poets Café) and co-hosts a music program on 3CR Community Radio.
