Li’Tsoanelo Zwane is currently pursuing Doctoral studies at the University of the Western Cape within the Religion and Theology department. Her research focuses on the divinity of water, its ecology and healing properties. Additionally, how uMvelingqangi as being water is conceptualized as the Original Healer- uMelaphi Wandulo. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree (Cum Laude) from the University of the Western Cape, a Bachelor of Education (Honours), Master of Philosophy (Cum Laude in the thesis) both from the University of Cape Town. She is a PhD Fellow of the International Research and Training Group on Transformative Religion and a member of the Association of the Study of Religions in Southern Africa. She is a full-time lecturer within the Department of Religion and Theology and her focus is Ethics- specifically African Ethics and African Spirituality/African Cosmology as a framework for moral discourse. She is a practising Senior Sangoma/Diviner and Gobela and is a Prophetess, High Priestess. She is a Section 11 advisory committee of the South African Human Rights Commission and a member of the Traditional Healers Organization of Africa.
