Pswagi Temahahoi is part of the ongoing art series Finding Pathways to Temahahoi, initiated by Anchi Lin (Ciwas Tahos) in 2020. The series reimagines Temahahoi—a space from an oral story—through contemporary art. In the narrative, behuy (wind) brings forth Temahahoi's descendants; Ciwas translates this as breath and uses it to create ceramic instruments that serve as vessels and portals. These instruments capture collective breath to generate soundscapes that continually reshape Temahahoi. Additionally, the oral story recounts that the women could communicate with bees, a concept Ciwas links to pswagi—a traditional technique using sunlight to locate wild bee colonies in the deep mountains. For Ciwas, finding these hidden bee colonies is another way to reconnect with Temahahoi, but if the traditional pswagi practice fades, that crucial link may be lost.
